SPIRO BULLDOGS
BOYS
Coach: Dustin Gist
23-24 Record: 18-10
The Spiro Bulldogs are looking to build on the momentum they gained at the end of last season, when toughness and togetherness helped them finish strong. Head coach Dustin Gist is optimistic that the same qualities will allow his team to compete this season. Although the Bulldogs face the challenge of filling several roles, Gist believes the competitive environment and his team’s hard work will make for a promising year. “We have some talent, and we will play hard and never quit,” Gist said. “We are looking forward to a good season.”
Leading the charge for Spiro is senior forward Brycen Graham (6-6, Sr.), who averaged 14.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game last season. Graham is a versatile player who can score both inside and outside, making him a key offensive weapon. Additionally, his excellent passing ability and consistent effort make him a standout on both ends of the floor. “He works hard, and he competes until the end,” Gist said.
Davis Carter (6-0, Sr.) also returns as a reliable forward, contributing 9.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. Known for his hustle and basketball IQ, Carter is a player who consistently does the little things right, whether it’s being in the right spot on defense or executing the game plan.
Elijah Branscum (6-2, Sr.) adds depth in the frontcourt, averaging 2.0 points and 3.0 rebounds last season, while Hayden Reed (5-9, Jr.) brings quickness to the backcourt as a guard. Rounding out the senior class are Keaton Cox (5-8, Sr.) and Cody Douthit (6-1, Sr.), who will provide experience and leadership to a team with a mix of veterans and underclassmen. The Bulldogs also feature promising juniors such as Spencer Gist (6-5, Jr.) and Ja’Shawn Jones (6-2, Jr.), both of whom have the size and skill to make an impact this season.
Spiro’s schedule is packed with competitive matchups, including games against Vian, Heavener, and Warner.
