Warner’s Ella LaBounty – Softball Spotlight – Presented by Warner Eagle Pride

From the moment she first stepped onto a softball field at four years old, Ella LaBounty knew the game was special. “My mom is what inspired me to play,” she said. Now a sophomore at Warner High School, she has grown into a key player for the Eagles, making an impact both in fastpitch and slow pitch.

LaBounty’s versatility is one of her greatest strengths. “In fastpitch, I pitch and play as a utility, and in slow pitch, I play outfield and middles,” she explained. Her ability to adapt to different positions has made her an invaluable asset to her team. But more than just skill, she credits the people around her for shaping her career. “My biggest influence is my parents and coaches,” she said. Their support has helped her push through challenges and continue improving.

One of LaBounty’s favorite parts about playing for Warner is the bond she shares with her teammates. “Getting to play with all my friends and being able to represent my school” is what makes the experience so special for her. That bond extends beyond the field as well. “We cheer each other on, whether it’s when one of us gets a hit or if one of us scores good on a test—we all support each other and uplift each other.”

Preparation is key to her success, and LaBounty takes both the mental and physical aspects of the game seriously. “I usually start with getting in a game mindset and visualizing what I want to happen the night before,” she said. “Then pregame, I stretch and warm up while focusing on my form. Right before we run out, I pray for all the girls and thank God I get to play the game I love.”

Looking ahead, LaBounty hopes to continue her softball career at the college level. “I would love to play softball in college and maybe one day become a softball coach,” she said. Until then, she remains focused on making the most of every season. “I want to continue to do my part on my team to get us as far as we can.”
