Porter’s Chloe Freniere – Softball Spotlight – Presented by BancFirst Coweta

When Chloe Freniere steps onto the diamond, her focus is sharp, and her drive is clear. “My goals for this season are to maintain a high batting average, improve my on base percentage, and build strong confidence in my abilities,” she said. Those goals have already taken shape, with Freniere carrying a .404 batting average, .508 on-base percentage, and 13 RBIs this season.

The sophomore has also made her presence felt in the circle, notching 61 strikeouts while touching 55 mph on her pitches. Still, her biggest focus is on how her team grows together. “The team morale has been really positive this year,” Freniere said. “We are a young group, and we’re focused on doing our best and competing at a high level.”

For Porter, the growth has been obvious since the start of the season. “At the start of the season, we were struggling to make contact with the ball, but now our bats are heating up and starting to show their true potential,” Freniere said. That improvement has boosted their ability to meet bigger goals. “Some of the team’s goals this year include improving our overall hitting consistency, strengthening our defense, and building better team chemistry on and off the field. We’re focusing on building consistency through daily practice routines.”

Resilience, though, has been their defining quality. “Right now, I think the team’s biggest strength is our resilience,” Freniere said. “Even when things were not going our way earlier in the season, we kept fighting, staying positive, and supported each other.”

For her part, Freniere impacts the game from multiple roles. “I play both pitcher and middle infield,” she said. “As a pitcher, I focus on the defensive alignment, looking for any gaps or positioning that could affect my pitching selection, and I always stay alert to the possibility of a quick play at the plate or a double play.”

Her mindset is simple but powerful. “When I step on the field, my mindset is all about staying focused and confident,” Freniere said. “I remind myself that I have put in the work and trusted my skills whether I am pitching or playing middle infield.”

Looking ahead, Freniere hopes her impact leaves a lasting impression. “I want my legacy at Porter to be one of hard work, leadership, and always giving my best,” she said.
