BRADYN ISRAEL
Porter High School
Bradyn Israel made a name for himself this past football season at Porter High School and is continuing his high school sports career on the basketball court.
Israel, at 6-foot-4 and 265 pounds was a unique piece for the Pirates’ football team in 2024. The senior lined up behind center and completed 53 of 84 passes for 873 yards and six touchdowns. He also rushed for 403 yards on 48 carries and added nine TDs on the ground.
In Porter’s lone win against Hulbert this past season, Israel completed 15 of 22 passes for 298 yards with a touchdown and added 30 yards and two scores on the ground.
But his future is on the defensive side of the ball as a defensive end. Israel, who registered 20 total tackles and blocked a field goal attempt in his final campaign, will continue his gridiron career at Southwest Baptist University.
This is his first go in basketball in several years and he is supplying size in the middle for the Pirates. He is all about making memories in his final year of high school.
“I just want to make memories for my senior year,” Israel said. “Since I haven’t played [basketball] in several years, I have had to try and find where to help the team at most.”
Israel has been able to take advantage of his size in the post under Porter head coach Ramey Helms. Being a member of the starting five has been a defining moment, especially since his absence from the game over a span of several years.
“I bring in the post offensively and defensively,” Israel said. “Being one of the starters has been a proud moment of mine this year.”
Israel considers his defensive coordinator as his biggest influence on his sports career in high school.
“It would have to be coach Hollis because he lets me know when I’m doing something wrong,” Israel said.
