The 2025 senior continues to put a sting into the Hornets opponents. Mason Pickering is doing all the dirty work behind the plate at catches with his defensive prowess and with the bat in his hands empowers the Hilldale offensive firepower. During the first 19 games of the year, From the leadoff position, Pickering’s .699 on-base percentage highlights his .600batting average that include 16 extra base results with four home runs among his 30 base hits totaling 26 runs batted in while scoring 31 runs as Hilldale opened the spring campaign posting a 17-2 record to grab the lead in Class 4A-8 district standings.
“Mason has been great all year coming through in the clutch. His numbers speak for themselves,” said head coach Nathan Frisby. “He’s just as good of a teammate, on and off the field.”
After graduation, Pickering will continue to play baseball on the collegiate level on scholarship at Austin Peay University.
