KAMDYN TAPP

Fort Gibson Lady Tigers

On the soccer pitch, the difference between winning and losing can be determined by a save, one or many while defending shots on goal by the opponent. In the opening weeks of the season, the performance of Kamdyn Tapp has been at a championship level.  After scoring eight goals while adding eight assists last year as a forward, the Lady Tigers’ sophomore has successfully moved to goalkeeper where she protected the net consistently by recording 27 saves including one shutout as Fort Gibson roared to the Southern Coast Cup Championship in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Boasting a 4.5 GPA in the classroom including winning daily challenges of her calculus assignments, Tapp enjoys the opportunities of being the last line of defense. “It’s rewarding to make a stop that leaves a look of despair on the face of the opponents. Playing the goalkeeper position also creates pressure that forces me to be too tough on myself. I’m thankful for the support of my teammates for continuously lifting me up and keep me positive,” said Tapp. “Playing forward last year helps me anticipate what the opposing players are going to do with the ball.”

Tapp has totaled 39 saves in the Lady Tigers first five matches of the season.
