Eufaula Lady Ironheads Softball Preview – Presented by Bank of Eufaula

EUFAULA IRONHEADS
Coach: RYAN GREEN
Last Year: 23-12
OUTLOOK
After going 23-12 last year including a trip to the state tournament, the Eufaula Ironheads hope
to build on that success and take another step in the post season in 2024. They will be very
young with just four seniors on the roster but one of those is Kate Pippenger who hit .378 last
season with 16 doubles and 42 RBIs.
“Kate has been one our best hitters since her freshman year and should continue to swing a big
bat this year. She played shortstop last year and will also pick up some innings in the circle for
us this season,” said head coach Ryan Green. “She plays extremely hard and has a real
passion for the game.”
Another returner for Eufaula is junior Rayleigh Peterson who hit .326 while playing a solid
second base.

“Rayleigh is probably our most consistent contact hitter, with the fewest strikeouts on the team,”
said Green. “There have been multiple times during her first two seasons that she has come
through for us in the clutch.”
Senior Madison Ballard also returns to anchor the first base spot while another senior Kadie Jo
Tidwell will catch and play outfield along with senior Jadence Efurd.
Other expected contributors for the Ironheads include junior Emma Lovett, sophomores Briley
Gragg, Burkleigh Lange, Hannah Beaver, Kaymon Cloud and Abby Box and a host of freshmen
that include Jana Hickman, Olivia Luna, Claudia McDaniel, Raci Summerlin and two others in
particular- Leah Green and Hannah Needham.

“Leah comes to us after a successful junior high career and will be looking to pick up the
majority of our innings in the circle. She is a true utility fielder and swings a pretty good bat with
great speed on the bases,” said Green. “Hannah is a versatile player who can catch and play
infield and has a high softball IQ.”
“if we can be consistent in the circle, I believe our defense will help us out in most games. We
don’t have a lot of power on offense, but I think our athleticism will put pressure on opposing
defenses that will allow us to score runs.”
