Muskogee Lady Roughers
As the Class 6A basketball playoffs loom, Elexis Holmes continues to raise her skills to a championship level leading the Lady Roughers to a pair of tournament championships. The 6-foot-1 sophomore combo guard displays her skills on both ends of the court averaging 19.4 points and 7.5 rebounds for the season through mid-January as Muskogee raced to the championships of McAlester’s Primus Moore Invitational followed by their first place finish in the Tulsa Rogers tournament where Holmes led all scorers by totaling 73 points and grabbing 26 rebounds in three victories and earned Most Valuable Player honors.
In a regular season matchup against Broken Arrow, Holmes posted a double-double total scoring 25 points along with 11 rebounds in Muskogee’s 24-point road victory.
With her focus dialed in to join forces with her teammates to lead the Lady Roughers to the Class 6A state tournament, Holmes maturity, focus and work ethic already has college coaches begging for her commitment to play at the next level having already received power-4 Division-I scholarship invites including SMU, Tulsa, Wichita State, Arkansas.
In the classroom, Holmes has gold medal results posting a 4.0 grade point average.
