Keys High School’s Chase Jones – Golf Spotlight – Presented by Tommy Nix Auto Group

Leadership is the standard Chase Jones sets for himself as he enters his senior season with the Keys High School golf program. “Goal is to lead the team to a good season and hopefully make it to state,” Jones said, outlining what drives him going into the year.

Jones has already noticed growth within the program. “Everyone is getting better at being a consistent ball striker,” Jones said, pointing to steady improvement across the roster.

The expectations for the season are clear and balanced. “Team goals are to have fun, build chemistry and hopefully make it to state,” Jones said. That approach reflects what he believes separates the team. “Everyone’s work ethic to get better,” he said of the group’s biggest strength.

For Jones, leadership goes beyond words. “Being a leader,” he said when describing the role he embraces within the team. On the course, his focus is sharp and technical. “Green slopes. And the way the fairways are setup,” Jones said of what he pays attention to when reading a course.

Preparation is a simple but important part of his routine. “Making sure I get a good breakfast and drink lots of water,” he said. Once competition begins, his mindset stays grounded. “Be the best that I possibly can,” Jones said.

When he looks ahead to how he wants to be remembered at Keys, his answer is straightforward. “The guy who went above and beyond,” Jones said. That mentality reflects how he views the team dynamic as a whole. “We all bring something to the table,” he said.

Over his career, one accomplishment continues to stand out. “Making it to state each year I’ve been able to play,” Jones said, highlighting the consistency he has experienced.

Jones is a senior student-athlete who stands 6-foot-1 and competes in golf and basketball. Looking beyond high school, his plans are clear and focused. “Plans are to go straight to work and eventually pipeline weld soon,” Jones said.
