HULBERT’S LOGAN BEELER – LIFE AND BASEBALL
By Michael Bray
Logan Beeler loves life and baseball.
“I’m just a fun guy to be around,” Beeler said about himself. “I love making people laugh and my love for the game is my drive to play. “
That is certainly evident as his stats reflect. In 44 games played for the Hulbert Riders, the senior has amassed a .346 batting average to go along with his .411 on base percentage.
“Logan plays multiple positions and plays them all well. He will be a key on defense every game,” said head coach Shane Bevan. “He will have to stay locked in all year for us and lead by example to the underclassmen. He is a 4 year starter that has been in high leverage situations.”
When asked about what he brings to Hulbert, Beeler mentioned leadership, his knowledge of the game and 13 years of experience were his key components.
“I want to be there when my team needs me, and be the person they can put me in a stressful situation,” he said.
Coach Bevan added to that.
” He will be one of the top 2 pitchers on staff. Has a good work ethic in practice to help lead younger players along with the other seniors to help with that.”
A big challenge though, was having to adjust to two new coaches during his high school career.
But that is resolved.
“I learned how to trust my coach and the decisions he makes.”
One of his favorite memories is the time when he was pitching.
“I was throwing a no hitter until my dad jinxed me,* he laughed.
Logan said it is hard for him to pick just one person in his life as his role model. “I have so many people who have made an impact on my life that I look up too.”
Law Enforcement is a future endeavor for him, but for now he enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting and of course, playing baseball.
His hopes are for a successful year for the Riders.
“For the team I want to have a great year and do better than last year. For myself, to never stop practicing to get better.”
His coach added
“Off the field he is a good kid that does the right thing.”
