STIGLER’S KEELI ADAMS – HOOPS, BATS AND SMILES
By Michael Bray
Everyone loves a good comedian. Stigler has their own in Keeli Adams.
“Something that makes me myself is my silly personality and to make everyone laugh,” the Lady Panthers senior said. “My drive for playing is to help my girls with winning or just by working hard.”
Adams, a two-sport athlete in softball and basketball, said her friend, Payton Mecom is the strength of her inspiration for playing. “Just her (Mecom) leadership is what helps me strive to be better in both sports,” said Adams. “She is the best leader I see and I know she will do great things in the future.”
Dannie Culwell, Adam’s coach on the diamond, has the highest praise for his senior star.
“She is a very good girl and works hard,” Culwell said. “She plays any position but pitcher and is a great hitter who leads by example and plays softball year round. We are looking forward for our next season,”
Adams was a third baseman as a junior, a first baseman as a sophomore. As a freshman she played outfielder and first base.
Her Dad, Kevin Edmonds, a former semi-professional basketball player who played at Oklahoma State University is her role model.
“He’s tall, 6-foot-10, and he gives me tips on what I should do differently in a game. I appreciate him for that,” Keeli said.
That transcends into what she likes to do when not playing sports.
“My favorite moment I’ve experienced so far during life in general is spending time with people I love most, and surrounding myself with people who love me just as much,” she said. “I’m a very caring person outside of my silly, outgoing self, when you truly get to know me, I care about you deeply.”
The future is bright and dreams are endless for Adams.
“Personally in basketball, l I want to get stronger for my team and help them strive to win,” she said of the current affairs. But what about after graduation?
“I see myself in college playing the sport that I love the most. I look forward to going to a good college for softball—I’ve loved softball for a long time and I’ve worked hard and have gone to camps to have coaches see the player that I am.
