SPIRO BULLDOGS
COACH: Dustin Gist
Record: 11-12
OUTLOOK
With size, athleticism, and a deep roster competing for minutes, the Spiro Bulldogs enter the 2025-26 season ready to take a major step forward under longtime head coach Dustin Gist. “We combine some height with athleticism and depth,” Gist said. “Not a lot of experience, but a lot of players competing for positions and playing time should help us mature as the season goes along. We expect to play very hard on both ends of the court.”
Leading the way for the Bulldogs is senior Spencer Gist (6-6, Sr.), whose length, shooting ability, and rim protection make him the centerpiece of Spiro’s roster. Behind him is a strong senior class that helps anchor the lineup, including Travis Moody (5-11, Sr.), an athletic guard, and Hayden Reed (5-7, Sr.), another experienced presence in the backcourt.
The junior class adds even more size and versatility. Jackson Spears (5-11, Jr.), Drevion Williams (6-6, Jr.), and Dajuan Johnson (5-11, Jr.) all return as forwards capable of defending multiple positions, while Orlando Evans (5-9, Jr.) provides guard depth and quickness. Hayden Woodral (5-11, Jr.) rounds out a group that gives the Bulldogs a strong interior presence paired with athletic wings.
Spiro’s future is also in good hands with a talented sophomore group. JT McMillan (5-11, So.), Sir Thomas (5-10, So.), and Johnnye Clayton (5-9, So.) boost the backcourt with energy and competitiveness, while Romeo Gordon (6-4, So.) — listed as the team’s Underclassman to Watch — brings elite size for a guard and is expected to develop into a major contributor as the season progresses.
With battles for playing time across the board and a roster filled with length and athletic potential, Gist believes this team can grow into a dangerous postseason contender. The formula is simple: competition, toughness, and effort. “We expect to play very hard on both ends of the court,” he said.
If that identity takes hold, the Bulldogs’ combination of height and improving guard play could help them make a push in Class 3A.
