SALLISAW LADY BLACK DIAMONDS
COACH: Greg Pratt
Record: 18–9
OUTLOOK
After an 18-9 season that ended with a regional consolation loss, the Sallisaw Lady Black Diamonds are looking to take the next step under head coach Greg Pratt, who enters his second year leading the program. “Went 18-9 last season and graduated one starter. Lots of seniors with plenty of experience and we bring back four starters and rotational players as well, so I feel like we should be improved this season,” Pratt said. He believes the team’s improved depth will be a key factor. “We have improved depth going eight or possibly nine deep. Last season we lost in regional consolation and it’s time this program takes the next step and be an area team and get to the Friday or Saturday game,” he added.
At the heart of the Lady Black Diamonds is senior guard and Top 100 nominee Hannah Palmer (5-4, Sr.), a multiyear starter who contributes at both point guard and shooting guard. “Hannah is a multiyear starter and returning scorer this season. Plays PG and SG for us. Looking forward to her senior year where she takes a step forward and becomes more of a complete player on both ends of the floor,” Pratt said. “For this team to take the step forward that we all hope for, Hannah will play a major role in that step.”
Joining Palmer in the senior leadership group are Emma Martin (5-2, Sr.), Sydney Weeden (5-9, Sr.), and Alayna Locust-Trammell (5-8, Sr.), who Pratt praises for her character and work ethic. “Great kid who works hard every single day and is always a good teammate. Works outside of school in childcare and wants to go in that career field. You would be hard pressed to find any teammate, past or present, that has a bad word to say about her,” he said.
Among the underclassmen, sophomore guard Katelyn Carlton (5-5, So.) stands out as a player to watch. “Really athletic player who has great on ball defensive skills. Plays bigger than her 5’5” height. Looking to take on a bigger role with this team especially on the offensive end. The skills are there,” Pratt said.
Rounding out the roster are juniors Channing Wilson (5-8), Jaycie Cox (5-5), Kaycie Girdner (5-10), and Cherokee Davis (6-1), along with sophomore Jolee Curson (5-10), all providing depth and versatility to the lineup. With senior leadership, talented underclassmen, and a focus on taking the next step, Pratt’s Lady Black Diamonds are poised to make a strong push in 2025-26.
