Sequoyah Tahlequah’s Marley Moore – Football Spotlight – Presented by Local Bank

For Marley Moore, every snap is more than just a play—it’s an opportunity to build his legacy. The Sequoyah High School standout is entering his junior season with a renewed focus and drive. “My personal goals are to become flawless in what I’m taught to do from my coaches and to improve my image on the field and to my teammates,” Moore said. He knows greatness isn’t given—it’s earned, one rep at a time.

This offseason, the team’s bond has grown stronger, and it’s showing in every workout. “My teammates this year take offseason training seriously and love being around each other when putting in the work they need to get done,” Moore said. That camaraderie is translating into high-effort practices and a unified mentality.

“The biggest improvement I have seen in my team is having the capability to stay persistent in training and to have a huge connection with one another,” he said. That persistence is crucial to their ultimate goal: “My team’s number one goal is to win a state championship and to go undefeated in the regular season.”

But Moore knows it won’t be handed to them. “The biggest challenge to complete this goal is to keep staying consistent and fix every small mistake,” he added.

What sets this team apart, he believes, is their relentless effort. “My team isn’t afraid to try their best in what they’re passionate about. They are hard-working athletes and great to be around when you’re trying to accomplish a goal.”

Moore has earned his role as a starting running back and middle linebacker. “I’m going to be running back this season after working my hardest in and out of training over the last year,” he said. His football IQ stands out. “I look for ways to set the play up for my teammates to do their job efficiently so I can execute mine perfectly.”

On defense, he’s a force. “My main goal is to hit my opponent until they don’t come my way anymore,” he said. The same intensity applies on offense.

Favorite memory? “When we won our game against Vian my freshman year.”

Plans for Marley Moore after high school are to play college football and graduate college.
