OFFENSE

The cycle of experience may pay off this year for the Muldrow Bulldogs. After playing as freshmen in 2023 and struggling to a 1-9 record, they turned that experience into more wins last year improving to 5-5 and now with 10 returning starters on offense, coach Logan Coatney feels this may be their year to shine. The main reason for that optimism is quarterback Teaguen Collins (6-2, 200, Sr.). The dual threat signal caller, a VYPE TOP 100 pick, ran for over 1000 yards, passed for over 1000 yards and accounted for 25 TDs. “Teaguen is a great young man with exceptional talent and can play just about anywhere on the field,” said Coatney. “He’s also a great student with a 4.1 GPA and plays basketball and runs track as well. He currently has offers from Emporia State and Iowa State and will surely get some more this coming year.” Collins will have experienced receivers to catch his passes in Jermauree Palmer (5-7, 140, Sr.) and D.J. Massey (6-1, 165, Jr.) who combined for over 700 yards in receptions last year. The O-line also returns a couple of key starters in Alejandro Santacruz (5-11, 220, Sr.) and Tasker Colbert (6-1, 250, Jr.) to provide protection or lead the way on runs.

DEFENSE

Running out of an odd-man front, the Bulldogs return eight starters from last year led by Collins at a safety spot who had 75 tackles last year. Also strong in the secondary is Gabe Miller (5-10, 170, Sr.) who recorded 63 tackles and had a sack and four tackles for loss from a safety spot and Palmer will return to the cornerback spot along with Massey who Coatney is expecting to have a breakout year. “D.J. had a good sophomore year for us and looks to add to it in his junior year. He’ll be asked to move around a little more this year as we get him more involved in the game.” Also returning to help at defensive end is E.J. Zanders (6-0, 220, Sr.) who had four sacks and a scoop-and-score last year. “We are looking forward to having a good year in 2025 with most of our firepower returning from last year as well as adding a few new pieces with our young guys,” said Coatney.
