Webbers Falls’ Bridgette Baer – ICTC Sports Medicine – Presented by Indian Capital Technology Center

BRIDGETTE BAER

Webbers Falls

It’s easy to see that Bridgette Baer, a multi-sport athlete at Webbers Falls High School, makes the most of her competitive spirit to achieve winning results.  The 2025 senior is a 3-time state qualifier in track in addition to playing fastpitch and slowpitch softball along with basketball. So when given the opportunity to take part in the Sports Medicine program at Indian Capital Technology Center, Bridgette raced to the starting line.

“Not only have I learned how to better condition my body and stay healthy, I’ve also continued to develop my passion for helping my teammates prevent injuries or recover from them and stay healthy,” said Baer whose 3.94 GPA has earned her Salutatorian honors in her graduating class at Webbers Falls.

Curriculum for the Sports Medicine program at ICTC includes a combination of textbook and lab experiences to prepare for a multitude of opportunities in the medical field. Students explore and master their knowledge and application of anatomy, physiology, muscular and skeletal systems, exercise as well as medical terminology.

Meagan Caldwell, program instructor at ICTC-Muskogee explained how Baer has applied the sports medicine learning experience to a real life situation.

“Bridgette came into class hobbled by a high ankle sprain. I asked her what she needed to do and without hesitation she detailed the correct plan of recovery and quickly got herself back in the game,” recalled Caldwell. “She’s a leader by example, someone who wants to be at the top of the scoreboard. Bridgette knows that healthcare requires teamwork. She does her job and can motivate others as well as help them to do their tasks.”

Without hesitation and with a voice of confidence, Baer welcomes the opportunity to be a role model who finds happiness by helping others, including her clinical experiences during the second semester at ICTC.

“One of my teammates suffered a concussion during one of our games,” Baer recalled. “Because of what I’ve learned, I was confident when I told her to remain calm and just breathe.”

That moment was proof that Bridgette Baer has a love for helping others in their time of need.

“I have a definite competitive spirit. It’s more of a hate to lose more than a will to win,” Baer said with emphasis. “I love the pressure of knowing others are watching me and I strive to go out of my way to help others.”

After graduation, Baer will attend college at Connors State College in Warner to complete an Associate’s degree before she returns to ICTC-Muskogee to continue her game plan in the adult Physical Therapy Assistant program on the pathway for a future degree in physical therapy and a lifetime of service to those around her.
