Stigler’s Evan Williams – Baseball Spotlight – Presented by Dunn Ford Company

From the moment he first picked up a baseball, Evan Williams knew he had found his passion. “I am a left-handed pitcher from Stigler, Oklahoma, and I have played baseball my entire life,” he shared. As a standout player for Stigler High School, Evan’s lifelong dedication and work ethic have shaped him into the leader he is today.

“My friends and my dad have definitely inspired me the most to play,” Evan said when asked about his influences. “My dad was a former player, and all of my buddies played baseball, so it was a perfect fit.” This strong foundation of support and encouragement has fueled his commitment to the sport.

As a key player for Stigler’s team, Evan believes the team’s chemistry is a major strength. “I think our team chemistry is great right now. We have a lot of really cool guys that hold the team together, and I’m excited to see how it affects us throughout the season,” he said.

Evan’s primary role on the team is as a pitcher, a position he takes very seriously. “Preparing for the season started last summer just by lifting and training with the right people,” he explained. His personal goals include becoming a better leader and improving on last season’s performance.

Reflecting on the challenges he’s faced, Evan shared a pivotal moment in his sports career. “The most challenging moment for me has to be quitting basketball to focus on baseball. Before my freshman year, I was unsure about even playing baseball, but when my freshman season ended, I knew that was what I wanted to do for the remainder of my career,” he revealed.

One of Evan’s most memorable moments came during a high-pressure game. “During super regionals against Cushing, I was brought in with the bases loaded, game tied, with one out and the 3 and 4-hole hitters up to bat. Striking them out to keep us in the game, which we ended up winning, was incredible,” he said.

Looking ahead, Evan is excited to play collegiate baseball at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, where he plans to major in accounting. “I would like to thank my family and friends for being there throughout my entire journey.”
