Warner Eagles Basketball Team

WARNER EAGLES

BOYS

Coach: ANTHONY PORTER

23-24 Record: 17-12

The Warner Eagles are coming off an exciting season in which they made a trip to the state tournament. This year, they aim to build on that success with a young but experienced roster that includes two returning starters and a solid group of developing talent. Head coach Anthony Porter is optimistic about the upcoming season, citing the team’s hunger and drive to return to the Big House. “We are returning a solid group of young players as well as two starters from last year’s state tournament team,” said Porter. “This team is driven, hungry, and experienced. Our two returning starters will lead and guide our younger players to success.”

One of those key returning starters is point guard Jaxson Cash (6-0, Jr.), who averaged 10.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game last season. Cash is a leader on the court with excellent shooting ability and a tireless work ethic. The other returning starter, Dee Antwine (6-2, So.), will play an expanded role this season and is considered a cornerstone of the program’s future.

The Eagles will also rely on contributions from several young players. Memphis Swimmer (5-11, So.), who will share point guard duties, is known for his defensive tenacity and rebounding ability. Talon Longshore (6-1, Jr.), Ethan Glover(5-8, So.), Jackson Foreman (5-8, So.), Nate Lewis (5-8, Jr.), Stefan Xavier (6-3, Sr.), and Roman Carter (6-0, Jr.) are all expected to make an impact as Warner fine-tunes its lineup in pursuit of another deep playoff run. Coach Porter and the Eagles are determined to keep building on the foundation laid last year and are focused on increasing their chances of a return to the state tournament. With a mix of leadership, talent, and developing youth, the Warner Eagles are poised for another exciting season.
