STIGLER PANTHERS
BOYS
COACH: Chris Parker
23-24 Record: 15-10
Paced by the play of proven performers, the Panthers have good cause for optimism this season. Six veterans top the list of playmakers including VYPE Top 100 nominee Hunter Self (5-11, Sr.), a four-year starter who’s scoring skills will surpass 1000 points this year after recovering from an ACL tear. “Hunter can attack and score as well as pull up from midrange or change the outcome with a 3-pointer,” said head coach Chris Parker, who begins his eighth year at the helm. “His value doubles because of his defensive abilities.” The Panthers coach has great expectations from Jackson McCarter (5-9, Jr.) who was also sidelined by a knee injury after leading the Panthers stats in most offensive categories as a freshman. “Jackson proved he can score at all levels and his determination to succeed is apparent through his hard work to return to the court.” Cameron Eakle (5-10, Sr.) adds more firepower to the Stigler starting unit coming off a solid junior campaign. “Cameron is one of the most improved kids I’ve coached in my career,” said Parker. “His offseason hard work has expanded his offensive game with a solid midrange shot and the strength to score off the dribble at the rim.” A growth spurt for Cade Parker (6-3, Jr.) will further enrich the abilities of the guard unit along with Jaxson Johnson (5-10, So.) while Landon Hodges (6-3, Sr.) will once again add length and talent to the Stigler front line along with Micah Blizzard (6-2, Sr.), Gavyn Jones (6-2, Jr.). Parker will have added depth to the Panthers rotation including a pair of seniors Ezekiel Smith (5-10, Sr.) and Kaden Elza (5-9, Sr.), who will be joined by Morgan Peery (5-8, Jr.) and Michael Bills (6-2, Jr.) plus four sophomores led by Blake Goff (6-6, So.) and Dalton Wilkett (6-5, So.) to add muscle on the inside along with Joseph Roach (6-1, So.) and Landon Blizzard (6-0, So.). “These kids know the value of hard work. If we defend and play together like we’re capable of, we’re going to have a successful season,” said Parker. “Defense will remain a key focus every time we hit the court.”
