WAGONER BULLDOGS
BOYS
Coach: Dante Swanson
23-24 Record: 17-8
“Start quick and finish faster and stronger” best describes the outlook for the Bulldogs this season as head coach Dante Swanson enters his fourth season with the return of seven seniors from last year’s lineup.
VYPE Top 100 nominee JaShawn Davison (5-11, Sr.) will lead the scoring punch after exploiting his quickness and shot making abilities to average a team best 17.5 points per game a year ago and will reunite forces with Dante Swanson Jr. (5-9, Sr.) who as a “coach’s kid” adds a solid basketball IQ in a starters position. The Bulldogs coach will continue to push the tempo of play and keep everything fast paced relying upon Eedrick Johnson (5-10, Sr.), Jeffrey Faulk (5-11, Sr.), Davion McNack (5-10, Sr.), Dalen Jackson (5-9, Sr.) as well as Ryan Atkins (6-0, Jr.), Elijah Curtis (6-1, So.) and Bobby Henderson (5-9, So.).
Following the conclusion of the football season, the Bulldogs will add additional quickness and athleticism to the court including Matson Swanson (5-11, Sr.), Mason Durham (6-3, Jr.) and Elijah Love (6-1, So.).
“Experience will be a definite plus along with our ability to score the ball quickly,” said Swanson. “We’re always going to be an aggressive group that wants to create turnovers and finish with points quickly. Despite our lack of size, we’ll play scrappy and challenge our opponents every possession.”
