Okemah Panthers Football Preview – Presented by Weleetka Drug

OKEMAH PANTHERS

Coach: R.L. VICK II

2-8

OFFENSE

Coach R.L. Vick II takes over the Panther program that has a strong group of returning players and several newcomers looking to make major contributions on both sides of the ball. Vick is excited for his young team and said they have been extremely busy during the off season. The strength offensively should be the line, that returns four starters from last year. Included on the line will be senior Conner Stacy at tackle with Kainan Coon (So.) at the other tackle spot. Coon is a great leader on and off the
field with a great combination of size and speed. Another youngster up front to keep an eye on is Totkv
Coachman (Fr.), who will be handling the center position. Regarding the skill positions, look for a couple of seniors in, James Beasley at receiver and Xander Bell at running back to handle the rock. Beasley is a top-notch talent who is a tremendous athlete with great speed. Directing the offense is quarterback Rhett Rogers (Jr.). Vick said the plan for the offense is to “simply work together as a true team to achieve our goals.”

DEFENSE

Utilizing a 4-3 base, coach will be expecting his athletes to play sound defense and execute their assignments while focusing on playing and working together as a team. Players to watch on defense will be Brayden Payne, a junior cornerback. Joining him in the defensive backfield will be Ronnie
Jenkins (Sr.). Up front look for Aaden Dunson, a junior defensive end along with Davin Danker, a sophomore at tackle. Anchoring the linebackers will be Conner Stacy. The coaching staff
includes Steve Spatz, Chance Dean, and Chris Trout.
