Coach: DAVID DAVIDSON

23-24 Record: 3-20

The Braggs Wildcats girls basketball team is entering the 2024-25 season with a renewed sense of determination. Head coach David Davidson is leading a rebuilding effort with a core group of players who are hungry for success. After several challenging seasons, the Wildcats are ready to make their presence known and turn heads.

“We’re rebuilding and have a good core,” Davidson said. “The girls are hungry for success after being down the past few years and are ready to turn some heads. We’re still learning a lot but will give teams everything we have.”

Senior guard/forward Katelyn Chandler (Sr.) is a key leader for the Wildcats. She averaged 14.0 points, 9.75 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game last season, showcasing her ability to contribute on both ends of the floor. Chandler’s relentless work ethic and dedication make her a cornerstone for Braggs this year. Junior Kaylee Ashley (Jr.) adds scoring and rebounding to the mix, contributing 10.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Her versatility as a guard/forward gives the Wildcats flexibility in their lineups. Freshman Raelei Cockrell (Fr.) is also set to make an impact. Described as the “glue” of the team, Cockrell is already showing maturity beyond her years, stepping into critical roles despite facing minor injuries.

Denise Adams (Jr.), a junior guard/forward, has been a consistent presence for the Wildcats. Known for doing the little things right, Adams is a defensive standout who can take on the opposing team’s best player and provide hustle plays when the team needs them most. The Wildcats’ roster also features juniors Autumn Shockome (Jr.) and Bailey Gray (Jr.); senior Mati Clark (Sr.); sophomore Brandee Penwright (So.); and freshmen Emiley Gray (Fr.) and Raelei Cockrell (Fr.). Each player brings unique skills and depth to the team, adding to the Wildcats’ ability to adapt and compete.

With a challenging schedule ahead, Braggs is determined to give every opponent their best effort. This season will be about building chemistry, gaining experience, and setting the foundation for future success. Coach Davidson and his squad are focused on growth and turning their passion into results on the court.
