Westville’s Jenna Williams – Softball Spotlight – Presented by Tahlequah Family Vision

Softball is more than just a sport to Jenna Williams; it’s a passion driven by cherished family traditions and personal commitment. Growing up in Westville, Oklahoma, Jenna’s love for the game began early. “I started playing softball around the age of seven and started pitching around the age of nine,” Jenna shared, recalling the countless games she watched with her dad. “I grew up watching OU softball, and every year, me and my dad would go watch the Women’s College World Series together. I quickly fell in love with the sport.”

Now a 17-year-old junior at Westville High School, Jenna plays a key role for her team, not only as a player but also as a leader. “One of my roles is to be a leader on the team. I prepare for my role by listening to my coaches and teammates and helping the team achieve our goals.”

Jenna’s leadership has been instrumental in helping her team navigate both successes and challenges. Her freshman season, while difficult, was a transformative experience. “My freshman year as a team didn’t go the way we would’ve liked, but it helped shape all of us into the players we are today. Even though we didn’t win very many games, we persevered and got better with every rep.”

This perseverance paid off last season when Jenna and her team defeated Howe in the Big 8 Festival, a particularly satisfying victory. “It was such a memorable moment because the year before, Howe had run-ruled us, so it just showed how much time we had put into getting better.”

Looking ahead, Jenna’s goals remain clear. “I would love to be finishing up my coaching degree and moving back to Westville and starting my career at the school I love so deeply.” Whether continuing to play at the next level or pursuing her coaching dreams, Jenna is determined to stay connected to the game and community that have shaped her journey.

Above all, Jenna credits her faith, family, and community for their constant support. “I want to thank my family for always supporting me and making sacrifices to help me grow.”
