WESTVILLE YELLOWJACKETS

COACH: Tyler Triplett

Record: 3-20

OUTLOOK

After a challenging 3-20 season, the Westville Yellowjackets enter the new year with a renewed sense of purpose, experience, and a significantly deeper roster. Head coach Tyler Triplett, now in his second year at Westville, believes his team is ready to turn the corner in a big way. “Even with us having a bad season last year but, I feel we are poised to have a breakout season this year,” Triplett said. With returning starters, key bench players, and five impactful transfers joining the lineup, the Yellowjackets are set for a major step forward.

Two veterans anchor the returning core: Cody Hamor and Jimmy Flores, both of whom bring experience and leadership to a reshaped roster. They are joined by several transfers who are expected to elevate Westville immediately. “With those guys and our five transfers we had come in (Gerald Triplett II, Aliyah Miller, LaDerrius Stidum, Nehemiah Harrington, & Eli Clinton) it should be a really good season,” Triplett said.

The newcomers bring serious production, starting with senior point guard Gerald Triplett II (6-0, 12th) averaged 10.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. He arrives with big-game experience and multiple conference honors. Joining him in the backcourt is explosive scorer Aliyah Miller (5-9, 12th), who poured in 20.1 points per game last season while adding 4.3 rebounds and 2.2 steals.

On the wing, Nehemiah Harrington (6-0, 12th) brings another high-level scoring threat after averaging 17.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. Inside, the Yellowjackets add size and strength with LaDerrius Stidum (6-3, 11th), a versatile forward who posted 10.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks, and Lawson Meredith (6-6, 12th), who adds 8.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per night.

Freshman Eli Clinton (6-4) is the underclassman to watch this season, a skilled forward with touch around the rim and the ability to stretch the floor. Jason Lee represents the program as the Character Counts athlete for his poise and steady leadership.

With scoring, size, experience, and depth, Westville looks drastically improved—exactly the breakout coach Triplett believes is coming.
