SEQUOYAH TAHLEQUAH INDIANS
Coach: CHAD HENDRICKS
8-4
OFFENSE
The Sequoyah Indians are set for a promising 2024 season, driven by a talented and
youthful squad returning from a successful 2023 campaign. Leading the offense is senior
quarterback Jalen Handle (5-10, 175, Sr.), who amassed 277 rushing yards with four
touchdowns and 1151 passing yards with six touchdowns last season. “He has great
character, is a hard worker, and brings great leadership to the team,” head coach Chad
Hendricks said. The Indians employ a high-paced, multiple formations offense, aiming to
establish the pacing game through effective running. The offensive line is anchored by
seniors Jayden Marquez (6-3, 255, Sr.), Logan Rill (6-0, 310, Sr.), and Dayson Pritchett (6-0,
250, Sr.), providing a solid foundation for the run game. Wide receiver Cash Keys (6-1, 160,
So.) and running back Josiah Foreman (6-1, 215, Sr.) are also pivotal to the offensive
strategy, contributing significantly with their athleticism and skill.
DEFENSE
The Indians’ defense will base out of a 4-3 formation but will adapt into multiple fronts and
coverages as needed. Sophomore strong safety Hudson Hendricks (5-10, 165, So.) led the
team with 127 tackles, two tackles for loss, six interceptions, and four forced fumbles last
season. “Hudson was the leading tackler and interception leader on defense a year ago,”
Hendricks noted. The linebacker corps features sophomore Marley Moore (5-10, 215, So.),
who recorded 113 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and five sacks. Defensive end Josiah Foreman
(6-1, 215, Sr.) and cornerback Alden Jones (6-0, 160, So.) add depth and talent to the
defensive unit, which aims to be a formidable force this season.
