OUTLOOK
The Hulbert Riders are gearing up for a promising season under the guidance of Head Coach DeWayne Hammer. The offense will be spearheaded by junior shortstop Sadie Chambers, who brings both power and consistency to the plate. “She has a great bat and a stellar glove. She is great at keeping herself level-headed, even when things aren’t going her way which is a great attribute to have as a junior and a leader,” head coach DeWayne Hammer said.
Joining her are key players like senior first baseman Calan Teague, who has been a steady contributor over the years, and sophomore center fielder Gracie Conrad, known for her speed and agility. “Calan has been a great attribute to the Hulbert Softball program and puts in the work that’s necessary to improve on everything that she can. She works hard at first base and also works hard when she is pitching, she helps the team in many different ways and in any way that she’s asked,” Hammer said.
The lineup is further strengthened by juniors Kenleigh Farmer (2B), Eryn Jo Gibson (C), Alli Justice (3B), Chassidy Crittenden (LF), Hayley Smith (RF), and Kyra Horn (P). Freshmen Khloe Lamons (1B) and Brandy Parker (RF) will also add depth to the team.
Defensively, the Riders will rely on their experienced core to set the tone. Sadie Chambers will anchor the infield at shortstop, providing leadership and stability. Calan Teague will be a key player at first base, while Kyra Horn will lead the pitching staff.
The outfield will feature Gracie Conrad in center field, Chassidy Crittenden in left field, and Hayley Smith in right field, each bringing their own strengths to the team. With a well-rounded defense, the Riders are prepared to compete at a high level this season.
