2025 Stillwell Indians – Basketball Preview – Presented by B & B Backhoe and Dozer Service

STILWELL INDIANS

Coach: Michael George

Last Year:  21-7

There’s no excuses coming out of the Indians preseason camp at head coach Michael George enters his 11th year at the school. Despite graduations losses, George believes the impact of VYPE Top 100 nominee Brayton Carter (6-3, Jr.,) who averaged 17 points while grabbing 7-plus rebounds will challenge opponents by scoring at all three levels bolstered by the size and strength inside of Chase Benham (6-2, Jr.) who collected 5.5 rebounds per game while averaging 10 points per contest.

“Both of them have played significant roles in our success the past two seasons,” said George. “Brayton is closing in on 1,000 points in his career and led our team in scoring before being sidelined with an injury in the playoffs. Chase is a force to handle on the blocks and uses his strength as a plus on both ends of the court.”

Chris Canoe (5-10, Sr.) and Daylan Watie (6-2, Jr.) who earned experience last year including averaging 3.0 points per game off the bench will add to the game time experience to begin the year along with Lucas Muskrat (6-1, Jr.), Luke Duncan (6-1, Jr.) and Issac Livers (5-10, Jr.)

George anticipates an immediate impact from a pair of freshman including Riggins Bagby (6-1, Fr.) and Ryker Muskrat (5-10, Fr.) who proved he could score in a variety of ways during last summer’s camps.

“We have a solid junior class that will look to fill key roles lost to graduation along with a very solid freshman group that could add to the depth of the team,” said George. “Overall, we will look to be playing our best in March and getting back to the state tournament after falling shy last year.”
