HULBERT LADY RIDERS

COACH: Joseph McClure

Record: 16-10

OUTLOOK

Coming off a 16–10 season, the Hulbert Lady Riders enter the new year with momentum, experience, and a roster packed with proven contributors. Head coach Joseph McClure, now in his sixth year leading the program, is confident in what his team can accomplish thanks to a strong summer and a veteran core ready to push deeper into postseason play. “We expect to have a good season and hopefully advance farther in the playoffs. Our win total should increase again as well. We have four returning starters and some new faces that will add depth to our core. We had a great summer and played some good competition. So, there is a lot of excitement for the upcoming season,” said McClure.

Much of that excitement stems from Hulbert’s experienced perimeter trio of Sadie Chambers (5-6, Sr.), Brooke-Lynne Norton (5-7, Jr.), and Mya Henson (5-6, Jr.), who combined last season for over 33 points per game. Chambers returns as one of the state’s elite scorers after averaging 18.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 5.0 steals. Norton added 10.2 points and 53 made threes, while Henson contributed 5.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.6 steals.

McClure expects help from additional guards as well. “Sadie Chambers, Brooke-Lynne Norton and Mya Henson will lead the way on the perimeter with help from Lily Potts and Mia Cloud,” he said. Potts (3.2 ppg, 1.7 rpg) returns after earning minutes as a freshman, and Cloud adds more depth to the backcourt. Freshman Carley Hiatt, along with Kambri Young, Emma Bowlin, and Mia McNatt, round out a deep group of guards.

Inside, the Lady Riders will rely on a physical rotation. “Inside, Makenna Masters, Kenleigh Farmer, Brandy Parker and Bostynne Norton will rotate and bring a physical style,” McClure said. Masters (6-2, Jr.) continues to develop after returning from injury, while Parker (3.7 ppg, 4.6 rpg) and Farmer bring strength on the glass. Norton provides size and energy as a freshman.

With experience, toughness, and a style built on pressure and pace, the Lady Riders have their identity firmly in place. As McClure puts it, “The Lady Riders will continue to play a fun style with ball pressure and a fast paced offense.”
