Q&A with Howe’s Maggie Wilson

VYPE: What positions do you play?

Maggie Wilson: I mainly pitch, but I can play some of 1st or 3rd when needed.

VYPE: What motivates you?

MW: Always wanting to push myself to be the best that I can be.

VYPE: Who are some of your biggest influences or role models? Why?

MW: Kelly Maxwell and Lexi Kilfoyl because of the impact that they both have on the game when they’re pitching.

VYPE: What teacher has had the biggest impact on your life? How?

MW: Lauren Deaton. She has always supported me and been one of my biggest fans.

VYPE: What has it taken to be successful in your sports?

MW: A lot of hard work and dedication.

VYPE: What has been the highlight moment of your career?

MW: Pitching a perfect game in travel ball and hitting a homerun to tie up the game in super regionals.

VYPE: Is there an opponent that you enjoy beating the most Why?

MW: Pocola. Even though they always come out on top, I enjoy playing against them because they always push me to do my best because they are such a talented team.

VYPE: Which teammate do you enjoy working against the most with in practice? Why?

MW: My cousin Hattie. She pushes me to do my best because I don’t want her to do better than me.

VYPE: What clubs and campus activities are you involved with?

MW: National Honor Society (NHS) and softball.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school?

MW: Hopefully continue my athletic career and get my doctorate degree in pharmacy to become a pharmacist.

VYPE: What does it mean to you to represent your school and community when you play?

MW: It means everything to me. It makes me proud to represent Howe.
