Coach: Wes Tackett

2023 Record: 18-12

The Panama Razorbacks are poised for an exciting 2024 season, returning their top eight players from last year’s team, which qualified for the area tournament. Head coach Wes Tackett emphasizes the value of experience his team brings to the court this season.

“We’re fortunate to bring back a core group that gained valuable experience last year,” Tackett said. “They understand what it takes to compete at a high level, and we’re looking forward to building on that foundation.”

Leading the charge is three-year starting point guard Gavin Gotes (5-10, Sr.), who averaged 14.6 points, 4.0 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game last season. Gotes is a versatile playmaker with the ability to control the tempo and create opportunities for his teammates.

Malachi Releford (6-2, Sr.) also returns after a strong season, contributing 14.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. Releford’s scoring ability and presence on both ends of the floor make him a critical piece for the Razorbacks.

Freshman standout Chance Dalmut (6-0, So.) is another player to watch. In his freshman campaign, Dalmut averaged 6.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game, showcasing potential to develop into a key contributor this season.

With a deep and experienced roster, the Razorbacks are set to compete in what promises to be a competitive season. The team’s ability to work together and capitalize on their chemistry will be pivotal as they aim to make another run in the postseason.
