HEAVENER WOLVES

Coach: RODALE SANDERS

8-17

OFFENSE

Heavener’s young softball team is gearing up to make strides this season, focusing on the fundamentals and building experience daily. “We have a young team that is working hard to get better,” said head coach Rodale Sanders. The Wolves are dedicated to improving the small aspects of their game that make a big difference. With standout players like sophomore pitcher Kristy Shadwick, who will see more time in the circle and bat at the top of the lineup, the offense is poised to show growth. “We are building experience every day, and getting better with the small things,” Sanders added. Britlee Reed will lead off for Heavener this season, a strong hitter who will create opportunities for the offense. The team will rely on key contributions from their underclassmen, while also expecting leadership from experienced players.

DEFENSE

On the defensive side, the Wolves will be anchored by sophomore catcher Kaitlin Hurst, who has shown significant improvement behind the plate and in her swing from last year. “Kaitlin has gotten better behind the dish and improved her swing from last year,” Sanders said. The defense will focus on making smart plays and supporting their young pitcher, Kristy Shadwick, who is expected to be a key player in both pitching and hitting. With a young team, the emphasis will be on solid, fundamental defense and teamwork to compete effectively this season.
