Coach: DOLPHIN DAVIS
0-10
OFFENSE
There have been some challenges for the Okmulgee Bulldogs as they get ready for the 2025 football season. They have a new coach in Dolphin Davis, and they’ve had to work around a facilities shutdown, but Davis expresses optimism as he talks about the team. “We are improving every day and looking to get better by putting in the work. We’ve had some obstacles to overcome with facilities being closed due to renovations, but the players have adapted well, and they’re excited about the upcoming season.” There are three returning starters for Okmulgee led by senior Connor Holmes (6-2, 200) at the quarterback position and some receivers in Tayvion Harjo (6-3, 210, Jr.) at tight end, Keontae Youngblood (5-9, 160, Jr.) at wide receiver, and Josiah Colbert (5-11, 160, Jr.) who can play wide receiver or running back. “Keontae is a versatile returning starter for us who is a multi-sport athlete that plays basketball and runs track in addition to football,” said Davis. “He’s great at high pointing the ball and electric with the ball in his hands and we’ll look for him to have a breakout season after a strong sophomore year.” Davis also has an eye on a player that could have an impact on the O- line in freshman Dak Wilson who Davis says has already taken on some leadership responsibilities.
DEFENSE
Most of the same faces will appear on defense as well while Davis seeks to add some depth to his team to cut down on how many have to go both ways. Harjo and Holmes will return to their linebacker positions while Youngblood and Colbert will be the lockdown guys in the secondary.Rayden Dodds who Davis describes as a big, powerful and athletic lineman that will add experience and senior leadership. You might also expect to see the freshman Wilson on that side of the ball if he’s up to the challenge of going both ways. With coach Davis getting somewhat of a late start with the Bulldogs there are still a lot of questions to be answered before the first Friday night of action as to offensive and defensive sets.
