Mason High School’s Jadyn Allen – Basketball Spotlight

Some players aim for small milestones, but Mason senior Jadyn Allen has her eyes on something bigger every time she steps on the floor. As she puts it clearly, “My personal goal this season is to reach 1,000 career points.” It’s a goal built on consistency, leadership, and a fierce competitive drive—traits she’s displayed throughout her varsity career.

This season has brought Mason tighter together as a group, something Jadyn values deeply. “We support each other through whatever challenges we have faced,” she said. Their connection has grown stronger over the months, especially in one crucial area. “I’d say our communication has improved a lot!”

Team goals are simple but meaningful, centered on daily effort. “Give it our all every game win or lose,” Jadyn explained. And that resilient approach shows on the court. “Our biggest strength right now is not giving up no matter the score.”

A versatile athlete, Jadyn plays primarily at shooting guard, but she makes sure her coaches can plug her in wherever needed. “Shooting guard — but I have the ability to play any position.” Her basketball IQ shows in how she attacks a defense. “I look for the position of the defender — is there an open lane to drive, are they giving me space to shoot from outside, or if I’m double-teamed, I find a way to score with help from my teammates.”

Preparation fuels her performance, and her pre-game routine is simple but intentional. “Shooting 100 shots before the game.” When the lights come on, her mindset is just as deliberate: “Be a leader, not a follower. ‘Lord, help me play to the best of my ability.’”

Faith is woven deeply into Jadyn’s identity, both as a player and as a person. “Without God I wouldn’t be the player or person I am today.” It’s central to the legacy she hopes to leave behind. “I want to be remembered for not just my points, but my effort and determination… Most importantly I pray others seek God in all they do not just while playing sports.”

Fans may not realize the history behind Mason’s chemistry, but Jadyn knows it well. “Most of us played in the same little league together growing up.”

A multi-sport standout, Jadyn averaged 16.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4 steals, and 5 assists last season. She plays basketball, softball, and cross-country.  Jadyn’s not just focused on the now—she’s ready for what comes next. “My plans after high school include receiving my associate’s degree in allied health and attending TCC to receive a degree in sonography.”
