Beggs Lady Golden Demons Basketball Team

BEGGS GOLDEN DEMONS

GIRLS

Coach: James Youngblood

23-24 Record: 11-13

The 2024-25 season could be an exciting one as the Lady Demons look to build on last year and get the program back on the winning side of the ledger for the first time in a while as coach James Youngblood explained.

“Going into this season we have good expectations that we can build on last year’s 11-13 season. We return all but one player from that team and we’ll add some new faces. I’m looking for a good season with these young ladies.”

The girl to watch for Beggs will be Rylee Youngblood (5-10, So.) a southpaw who had a super freshman year scoring over 500 points, averaging 22 points and 10 rebounds a game along with six assists and five steals.

“Rylee is a tough player that can play all five positions. She has a high basketball IQ and can score at all three levels. She is highly competitive and is our team leader on and off the floor where she has a 4.0 GPA in the classroom,” said the head coach.

Tessa Christy (5-9, Jr.) is another go-getter for the Demons and another 4.0 student along with Bleu Hall (5-7, Sr.). The Beggs roster has a good mix of girls that will be looking to gain some playing time with seniors Destiny Clay (5-8), and Kayli Goebel (5-7) at the top of the list followed by juniors Kaley Collins (5-4) and Mylah Williams (5-6). A strong sophomore class will push the older crew as they look for a way into the lineup led by Kadence Wynn (6-0), Kayleigh Thompson (5-6), Kamya Stallings (5-5), Sydney Trail (6-0) and Ruby Tenison (5-7). Coach Youngblood is hopeful that this group and freshmen Abigail Harmon, Addison Dossett and Adlei Coale will develop and add some quality depth. It’s a pretty young but talented group with good size and a desire to get the Golden Demons over the hump this year.
