Few teams in Class B enter the 2026 season with expectations like Weleetka. The Outlaws came within one win of a state championship a year ago, winning their first 13 games before falling to Seiling in the title game. Head coach Tristan Garringer departed during the offseason to join his brother’s staff at Morrison, but the program remains in familiar hands. Ryan Jones, a 2018 Weleetka graduate, takes over one of Class B’s most talented rosters.
Offensively, the Outlaws return plenty of skill talent despite a change at quarterback. Sophomore Jakory Bagby (5-10, 180) slides behind center after starring at running back, giving Weleetka a dangerous dual-threat. Senior receivers Kellen Sheneman (5-8, 175) and Colt Richards (5-10, 175) provide veteran targets on the outside, but the player defenses must account for on every snap is senior tight end Noah Hare (6-0, 190). One of the top all-around players in Class B, Hare is a dominant blocker who also creates mismatches as a receiver. Junior running back Eli Hare (5-9, 175) gives the Outlaws another proven option in the backfield. The offense is built around a physical line led by senior Jonah Roberts (6-0, 205) and junior James Garcia (6-3, 240). Their experience should allow Weleetka to control the line of scrimmage and keep the offense balanced.
Defense has become a trademark of the program. The Outlaws held 11 of 14 opponents to 20 points or fewer last season. Noah Hare, Roberts and Garcia anchor the front, while Bagby and Eli Hare patrol linebacker. Sheneman and Richards return to lead an experienced secondary capable of making game-changing plays.
Jones believes the culture already in place will continue to drive the program.
“Our kids do what it takes to win,” Jones said.
That mentality has produced 38 victories over the past three seasons, including a 27-1 mark over the last two. With experience returning on both sides of the ball and another demanding schedule to prepare them for November, Weleetka again enters the season as a legitimate Class B state championship contender.
