For Brutus Robinson, baseball is more than just a sport—it’s been a constant throughout his life. “I’m a sophomore at Webbers Falls, I’ve always had a baseball in my hand, I started playing T-ball at three, I’ve been hooked ever since!” His passion has only grown stronger as the years have gone by.
Growing up in a family that loves baseball, Brutus’s inspirations are close to home. “My parents and their love of baseball rubbed off on me a lot,” he shares. “I can’t remember a summer we haven’t spent going to watch an MLB game or me playing summer ball.” His parents’ support has been vital, giving him opportunities to see the game at its highest level while always encouraging him to pursue his own dreams on the diamond.
This season, Brutus is stepping up as a leader on a team that has lost several key players. “We lost a lot of starters, we will be young, but I feel we will work hard as a team and be pretty good and get better throughout the season,” he said.
As a utility player, Brutus is prepared for anything. “I am a utility player, but my main position on the team this year will be shortstop and pitcher, I may catch some.” To stay sharp, he puts in the work both physically and mentally. “I prepare by warming up, keeping myself healthy and mentally ready.”
Brutus’s goal this season is clear: “Have more wins than losses, and to see myself and my teammates get better each week.” His mindset is about constant improvement, not just in skills but in team chemistry as well.
Off the field, Brutus enjoys hunting and fishing, activities that help him unwind and reconnect with nature. “I love to deer and duck hunt and go fishing.”
Looking ahead, Brutus dreams of playing baseball at the college level, but regardless of where life takes him, he remains focused on what truly matters. “My parents, they have run me all over the country to play the sport I love. I thank God for blessing me with the athletic ability to do what I love.”
