Warner’s Tallon Ashmore – Softball Spotlight – Presented by Alpine Medical Supply, Fitcorps, and Armstrong Bank

The Warner Eagles are having one of their best fastpitch softball seasons in some time and one of the reasons for their success is junior third baseman Tallon Ashmore. “My mom got me started in softball early and by the time I was 10, I had fallen in love with it. I started playing travel ball around eight and have done it ever since,” said Tallon who also runs the 200- and 400-meter events in track and was part of the 4X400 relay team that qualified for state her freshman year. But the amazing part of Tallon’s story is that she has done all that she does while battling Lupus, an often-times debilitating neuro disease. “She is tough as nails and she works hard every day while battling a disease that would take most of us out of the game,” said her coach Mickey Duncan. “Through pain, kidney failure, fatigue and all of things that go with Lupus, she has continued to play and shine like a star for us. I’m so proud and impressed with what she has been able to achieve.” Despite her medical challenges, Tallon has continued to expand her horizons, taking up powerlifting last year. “I was doing the normal lifting and one of our coaches suggested I try powerlifting, and I said, ‘sure, why not?’  I did okay my first year and I liked it enough that I’ll stick with it this year.” She’s also a star off the diamond being in the National Honor Society and a member of the school leadership team. Thinking back to her early high school years, Tallon recalled a special player that helped her. “Kalen Park was a great player when I was a freshman, and she really helped me a lot.” The 2025 season is going great for the Eagles. “A highlight for me this year was the in the Hall of Fame tournament against Mannford when I went two-for-three and we won the game.” In fact, Ashmore and the Eagles have won 27 games while losing just four and have captured a regional championship with three shoutout victories as of late September. Playing through adversity has been a hallmark of success for Tallon Ashmore.
