Warner’s Demariaun Antwine – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Cross

When Demariaun Antwine first started playing football, he wasn’t sure if the sport was for him. “I started this sport in little league with my dad convincing my mom to let me play football and I was scared at first,” he shared. “But I overcame it with a little motivation and dedication, and ever since then I’ve never wanted to put the football down.”

That early fear gave way to a deep love for the game—and for the brotherhood it creates. “What inspired me to play was always being part of a family. A bond that never ends,” Antwine said. “I love fighting with my family the battles we fought on the field together, and I enjoyed the bond created through the sport.”

Antwine is proud of the chemistry he and his Warner teammates have built. “We had a rough start last summer trying to figure out each other,” he said. “But when we played our first game, our chemistry clicked and we were the strongest team— we knew how to play together.”

As a leader on the team, Antwine takes his role seriously. “I make sure to pick everyone up and give them everything I got, because they’ll always have my back and I will forever have theirs,” he said. “Through the thick and thin, I will forever be there for them.”

This fall, Antwine is locked in on building confidence and character in his teammates. “I want to make it to playoffs and see how it goes from there,” he said.

One game that stood out last year was against Haskell. “I had my best game ever with five touchdowns and 220 receiving yards.”

Looking ahead, Antwine hopes to play sports in college and one day become a doctor. “My plan after high school is to go to a four-year college and play sports and try to go professional. If that doesn’t work, then I hope to become a doctor, get a job and make good money for my family.”
