ADYSEN DISHMAN-WARNER
Warner point guard Adysen Dishman knows her role will be vitally important for the Lady Eagles to turn things around in 2025 after going an uncharacteristic 7-19 last year.
“As the point guard I have to be able to control the tempo of the game and know what plays to run when and be versatile enough to play either the number one or three guard spot,” said Dishman, a VYPE TOP 100 selection.
“As a senior leader this year, I think several things are important. You have to be encouraging. If there’s a disagreement, you have to get in the middle of it and help resolve it, you have to know what to do on the court and you have to know your teammates on and off the court.”
In addition to her activities on the basketball court, Adysen is also involved in cheer, track and FFA and between the two sports, she prefers basketball but not for the reasons you might expect.
“I’d rather be in a gym where you can control the temperature than outside on a softball field where you can’t,” she laughed.
After being out of cheer since she was little, Adysen got back into it this year at the urging of some of her cheer friends.
“They asked me to try out again this year to help with the OSSAA cheer competition because I’m pretty strong and would be a good base in our stunts. I did and we qualified for state this year and finished 12th. It was also fun to cheer on Friday nights for football.”
In FFA, Addy has shown a variety of livestock over the years.
“I’ve shown goats, pigs, cattle and sheep over the years and I like showing sheep best. I showed pigs my freshman and sophomore years but quit those because pigs are such a mess,” chuckled Dishman.
After considering a number of offers to play basketball on the next level, Adysen says she has made up her mind and will announce her choice soon. In the meantime, with all of their starters back, Dishman and the Lady Eagles look to get back to the winning ways of Warner basketball this year.
