3 RIVERS BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS TO WATCH

Three point shooting specialists; players who cannot only electrify the crowd with slam-dunks but also on defense while rejecting shots. While others are just as deserving, here’s just a few of those hardwood heroes on the boys court that VYPE editors believe will be game changers and play key roles in the success of their teams.

JOE ADCOCK (CAMERON)

A multi-position playmaker Joe can be a threat in a variety of areas. Averaging 20 points-plus last season, he makes full use of his six-foot-four length and athleticism to finish strong at the rim but also has the guard skills to master the ball handling abililties

BRODY SCOTT (FORT GIBSON)

An elite ball-handler and passer who averaged almost six assists per game elevates his teammates with his court vision and decision-making. The Tigers guard can also finish at the rim in addition to producing points from the perimeter averaging 15.8 points per game making 58 percent of his shot attempts. Brody is a constant nemesis to opponents with his defensive skills.

CHASE CLARK  (OKAY)

Chase has played in the State Tournament every year since his freshman season. The senior, who has committed to Northeastern State University, is a physical offensive threat capable of scoring in multiple ways while distributing assists to his teammates. In addition to his 16 point per game average, his basketball IQ solidifies Chase’s efforts on both end of the court.

DAMONTE OWENS (ROLAND)

Damonte is an excellent scorer who also excels at finding open teammates. He is extremely athletic, possesses great court awareness, shoots with range, and is strong finishing at the rim as the Runnin’ Rangers seek another journey to the state tournament.

JOE GREEN (KEYS)

Already having displayed the skills to dominate play on either end of the court, the Cougars’ senior is an exceptionally talented player who averaged nearly 20 points per game last season.  A hard worker with tremendous upside, Joe has the potential to reach an elite level if he continues developing his toughness and consistency.

GERALD TRIPLETT III (WESTVILLE)

A seasoned 6’0 point guard is poised for a huge senior season. Already having made two trips to the Big House in the last three years with Roland, Gerald has earned first and third-team all-conference honors and is a two-time conference champion. He posted a double-double in last year’s area consolation game to help send his team to state.

WILL LEWIS (WETUMKA)

Will is a dedicated gym rat who stays until coaches tell him to go home. He is a skilled offensive player, a true three-level scorer, and an unselfish passer who loves creating for teammates. Defensively, he plays with active hands and can guard the ball at a high level. Will is the ultimate teammate who prioritizes winning over personal stats.

KE’SHON SHELBURN (WILSON HENRYETTA)

The leading scorer in the state tournament the last two years that includes winning the Class B title in 2024, Ke’shon is just as impressive with his defensive talents. Entering his fourth year in the starting five, Ke’shon led the Tigers in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots a year ago. Look for him to have another great year to cap off a stellar high school career.
