Stigler’s TJ Kettles – Baseball Spotlight – Presented by Dunn Country Ford Company

When a young athlete finds their passion early on, it often sets the tone for their entire journey. For Stigler’s TJ Kettles, it all started with a glove and bat at the age of five. “I’ve been playing baseball since I was five and really fell in love with it as time went on,” said Kettles, who now plays center field and pitches for the Panthers.

It wasn’t just the game that pulled him in—it was the time and dedication of someone special. “My dad was the main inspiration in my younger years. He taught me everything about baseball and showed me how to do everything I know how. I am very thankful for him and the countless hours we spent together practicing,” Kettles shared.

Now a key leader on the team, TJ thrives in an environment built on trust and camaraderie. “This year’s team chemistry is different from what I have seen. The chemistry this team has is remarkable. Everybody plays with each other and knows what each other is thinking. I am very lucky to be a part of the brotherhood we have.”

To stay mentally and physically prepared, TJ puts in the work before the first pitch is ever thrown. “My main job is center field with pitching mixed in. I prepare for games by going to sleep the night before visualizing the game. On game day the only thing I have on my mind is playing the game. Which I believe is an important aspect about the game.”

His goals for the season are as bold as his mindset. “The biggest goal I have this season is to break at least one school record on offense. Things are looking good so far and I am continuing to grind that out.”

Looking ahead, TJ has his sights set on success beyond the diamond. “I see myself graduated from college working towards a job in engineering,” he said. Whether he continues playing baseball at the next level or not, one thing is certain—his work ethic and leadership are already setting the tone for something great.
