Stigler’s Colt Falconer – Golf Spotlight

Stigler junior golfer Colt Falconer approaches every season with a clear competitive edge and a long-term vision for where the game can take him. His goals for this spring are straightforward and ambitious: “My goals for this season are to qualify for state and get top ten.”

Falconer believes the Panthers have the pieces to accomplish big things together. “The team morale this year has been good I think our team will be strong,” he said. The work started well before the first tee time. “Biggest improvement on the team this year is everyone has been practicing during off season getting ready for season,” he said.

Those habits feed into their shared target. “I think some of the goals for this year as a team is everyone is wanting to qualify for state as a team,” Falconer said. He sees a particular edge in one key area. “I think the biggest strength for this team is our short game not everyone can hit it far but our short game is good,” he said.

On the roster, Falconer embraces leadership and competition. “Roles I play are being a team leader and competition for the spot at 1 bag,” he said. On the course, he leans on preparation and course management. “What I look for reading a course is all the holes, how I’m going to approach the green on a shot, how long each hole is and reading the greens,” he said.

Tournament days start well before he reaches the first tee. “How I prepare myself before every tournament is drinking lots of water the day before I start focusing on the tournament, I go to bed early and try to get a good amount of sleep then I’ll wake up early and stretch and eat a light breakfast,” Falconer said. “My mind going on the course is wanting to stay focused and go for the win.”

Looking ahead, Falconer already has a vision for his legacy. “I want my legacy for Stigler is I’d like to win state and go to Stillwater for golf,” he said. A 2024–25 state qualifier who also plays football, he added, “My plans after high school I want to attend college in Stillwater.”
