Q&A with Keota’s James Weece
VYPE: What sports do you play?
James Weece: Football, basketball and baseball.
VYPE: What positions do you play?
JW: Fullback and safety in football, guard in basketball and catcher in baseball.
VYPE: What motivates you?
JW: Always having something to prove.
VYPE: Who are some of your biggest influences or role models? Why?
JW: My mom; she’s always showing me hard work pays off.
VYPE: What teacher has had the biggest impact on your life? How?
JW: Bryan Akins always pushed me to my limits when I thought I couldn’t go anymore
VYPE: What has it taken to be successful in your sports?
JW: Watching film goes a long way and just always trying to critique myself.
VYPE: What has been the highlight moment of your career?
JW: Each and every time I step onto the field.
VYPE: Is there an opponent that you enjoy beating the most? Why?
JW: Quinton has always been a rival.
VYPE: Which teammate do you enjoy working against the most with in practice? Why?
JW: Kayden Decker, we always push each other to our limits.
VYPE: What clubs and campus activities are you involved with?
JW: FFA.
VYPE: What does it mean to you to represent your school and community when you play?
JW: Definitely go out on the field and play for the name on the front of the jersey. I want to represent them the best I can but always make them remember the name on the back.
VYPE: What are your plans after high school?
JW: Try to get a college baseball offer. If not, then attend Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee.
