Okay’s Dynamic Duo Diezel Davis & Chase Clark – Presented by Indian Capital Technology Center

Okay’s Dynamic Duo

Two straight trips to the Class A state basketball tournament have Okay’s Diezel Davis hungry for more as he goes for the gold in this, his senior season. He’ll be helped this year by coach Chad Clark’s son, Chase, a junior. The head coach gave us his thoughts on this best-buds duo.

“These guys will both be big threats for us. Their explosive offense and knock down shooting will make it hard on our opponents. Diezel is the hardest worker I’ve ever coached. His hours spent in the gym are unmatched. He shoots 600 shots a day and that work ethic has rubbed off on Chase and now he does the same thing. They’re everything a coach could want. Chase of course is my son,and I’d always heard that’s it’s hard to coach your own kid, but for me it’s been nothing but fun.”

So VYPE set out to find out a little more about these guys that will guide the Mustang’s fortunes this season.

“I started playing when a friend of mine Rylen Burke’s dad got a bunch of use together to form a little travel team and we went around the area playing,” said Diezel.

For Chase the road to basketball was pretty clear since his dad is a coach.

“I’ve always had a basketball in my hands and my story is kind of like Diezel’s. Being coached by my dad has made it fun. We do have some tough times on and off the court, but I think it’s really helped shape me as a person.”

Both guys have the same goal in mind for the upcoming season-win the gold ball.

“I defiantly want to go all the way and as a team leader this year I have to keep the team focused on that,” said Diezel.

Always the good friend and teammate, Chase wants to go to the throne room this year as well.

“I really want to go all the way this year and win the gold ball for Diezel,” said Chase.

Call them the dynamic duo or just best friends, but Diezel Davis and Chase Clark are anxious to get the season underway and look forward to another trip to Oklahoma City in March.
