Muskogee’s Kashae Brown- Basketball Spotlight- Presented by Broadway Manor Care & Rehab Center

MUSKOGEE’S KASHAE BROWN

The on-court presence of Kashae Brown is a proven positive factor with her abilities to impact the outcome of basketball games on either end of the court. The six-foot junior combo guard in the Muskogee girls starting lineup admits she enjoys the physicality of attacking the glass on both ends of the court and is excited about ramping up the pace of play with her new teammates this season.

“I’m excited to be back at home and playing inside Rougher Village,” said Brown, who played one season at Fort Gibson before helping Booker T. Washington reach the Class 5A state tournament finals last year. “I like our style of play and how we can gain an advantage with defense and then running the floor fast to get quick buckets.”

With Division-I offers from Clemson and Oral Roberts University at hand, Brown knows she must continue to improve to maintain an elite level style of play.

“It’s more than just polishing my shot, I also have to extend my abilities to score from the perimeter.”

When asked to define herself in three words, Brown replied with confidence.

“Kind, smart and definitely hard working. When you have a strong work ethic, you can accomplish your dreams.”

In the classroom, Brown maintains a 4.0 GPA including the results from math assignments, her favorite subject.

“I enjoy the challenge. Just like in basketball there are different ways to score, the same is true with math. There’s more than just one way to find the right answer.”

Away from the game of basketball, Brown enjoys spending time with her family while watching movies. And when the time comes to eat, she has a definite meal of choice.

“I’m a breakfast first person. Not fast food but the traditional menu of eggs, bacon and toast,” Brown said with a wink and a smile. “It’s the most important meal of the day.”
