The hunger for success continues to fuel the everyday efforts of Muskogee senior wide receiver Jamie Beasley. After being a part of the Roughers state championship in 2023 only to narrowly miss the opportunity to win back-to-back titles, Beasley has only one mission as he begins his final year with the Roughers football program.
“Watching the other team get that state championship trophy continues to inspire me to become a better player,” said Beasley, whose 4.5 speed and sure hands demand double coverage by opposing defenses. “I know this is my last chance so every time I step on the field or walk in the locker room, I’m pushing myself to be accountable, be a leader not by words but by my actions and efforts to help my teammates find success at the same time.”
With statistics including 10 touchdown catches over the last two seasons, Beasley helped the Roughers move the chains last year by averaging 21 yards per catch.
“Jamie has the speed and agility to take any catch he makes to the house,” said Roughers head coach Dale Condict. “He’s very athletic and can be physical when running his routes which creates open receiver chances.”
“Beaz”, as he’s known by coaches and teammates, explains how he attacks opposing defenders.
“I’ll do whatever I have to do to keep the defensive back’s hands off me.”
On his time, the personable Rougher senior enjoys foods like buffalo wings and chicken alfredo along with the friendly competition from his teammates, particularly Jo Jo Alexander. while playing video games.
“When we play it’s a battle where the smack talk reaches a high level. But in the end, he knows I’ll win.”
While other college recruiters vie for his attention, Beasley confirms he’s committed to Sacramento State to play on the collegiate level.
“From the first time we talked, I liked the coaches. We made a connection that makes me feel comfortable.”
But for now, there’s still unfinished business for Jamie Beasley as he pulls on the number-13 green and white jersey.
“I’ve been part of 23 wins over the last two seasons and competed in two state championship games. I want to prove to everyone that the Roughers are still the team to beat in 2025 and get another ring.”
