DANIELLA FROMAN-MHS
It’s not often that a freshman comes along that has the potential to really elevate a team. But that seems to the feeling in the Muskogee High soccer community about Daniella Froman.
“We saw her play in middle school and know she’s going to be a great player for us,” said Rougher head soccer coach Oscar Flores. “Watching her work everyday has been very impressive. She’s a silent leader for our team even though she’s just a freshman because of her work ethic. It’s exciting to see such a young player adapt to the high school level so quickly.”
“Dani” got off to a strong start as a youngster with a mom who was a player and also a coach.
“She got me started when I was three or four years old and I played in the academy league and then the rec leagues in Muskogee until middle school,” said Froman. “The high school game is much faster paced and the plays we run are much more advanced.”
Dani will play in the midfield for the Roughers which suits her just fine.
“I like playing midfield because I like to hold the ball and distribute it. I think that’s one of my biggest assets and being able to communicate with the players and switch the field quickly.”
Even though she’s very talented, Froman says she still has some areas she wants to work on this season.
“I want to make my shooting technique more consistent this year while working on self-improvement and creating fond memories with this team.”
Sometimes becoming a welcome member of a team is a challenge for an incoming freshman but Froman feels like she’s fit right in with this young team.
“I played with a lot of these girls all through middle school so fitting in with the team hasn’t been a problem. Growing up I liked to watch (former Rougher) Mia Gonzales play. She was a really good leader and very skilled on the field.”
In her spare time, Daniella likes to write in her journal, read, enjoy photography and run.
“Running helps keep me in shape creates good self-discipline,” said the well-spoken freshman who is also in choir.
Daniella Froman will certainly be a player to watch for the Roughers when they take the pitch soon and Flores hopes she will be a key to a successful season for Muskogee.
