Some of Treydan Daugherty’s strongest motivation comes from the people who helped set the standard before him.
Daugherty, a sophomore at Gore High School, competes in football, wrestling, track and weightlifting. As a freshman, one of his proudest experiences came when he earned the opportunity to play varsity football alongside his brother, Antonio Parker, during Parker’s senior season.
“One memory I’m proud of was getting to play varsity with my brother his senior year, and it was my freshman year,” Daugherty said.
For Daugherty, sharing the field with Parker was more than a memorable season. His brother helped establish the approach Daugherty now carries into his own athletic career.
“My brother Antonio Parker has made the biggest impact on how I play by building a foundation for me,” Daugherty said.
That foundation has grown through competing in four sports. Daugherty points to mental toughness and discipline as two of the most important lessons athletics have taught him. His involvement extends beyond sports, too. He served as vice president of his freshman class and is a member of the Cherokee Challenge team.
The mindset behind those commitments can be summed up by the best advice he has received: “If you are waiting for the right time, then you’re already late.”

Daugherty also carries the influence of his late brother, Ty Clayton, with him. Clayton believed in what Daugherty could accomplish, and that belief continues to give him a reason to keep pushing forward.
“I would like to thank my late brother Ty Clayton, who went to heaven believing in me, and so for that I will never give up,” Daugherty said. “He set the bar high for me.”
Daugherty is equally grateful for his mom, dad, stepdad and extended family, who have supported and encouraged him along the way.
That sense of family extends to Gore. An avid fisherman, Daugherty enjoys living in Oklahoma’s trout capital, but the closeness of the community means even more.
“I love living in a small town because it’s like one big family,” Daugherty said.
As his sophomore season approaches, Daugherty is ready for another opportunity to grow. He is excited to play for new Gore coach Nathan McCurley, whose belief in him has already made an impact.
“I’m excited and ready to start the season with our new coach Nathan McCurley, who believes in me and encourages me to be the best,” Daugherty said.
