Gore Lady Pirates – Softball Preview – Presented by Gore Family Clinic

Coach: Kera Carter

14-11

The Lady Pirates are making the most of the summer training to put all the pieces together for success this fall as Kera Carter returns to her alma mater as head coach.

“This team has the leadership, grit and determination to have a successful year. The athleticism and competitiveness are here,” explained Carter. We have strong arms in the circle with a solid defense behind them.”

A trio of seniors including Kennedy Williams (CF), Emily Daily (SS) and Cheyenne Davidson (P) are setting the performance bar high as an example for others to follow.

“The game experience and leadership qualities of these three continue to trickle down to the younger players who are grasping their roles with a competitive spirit,” said Carter.

The Lady Pirates will build upon the efforts of underclassmen including a pair of juniors River Shoemake (3B) and Sophie O’Connor (2B) along with sophomore Maddison Douglass (UTL).

The new coach also likes the commitment of five incoming freshman that will compete for starting roles including Alevia Reasnor (P), Kylie McKeever (C), Jemma Peevy (P/1B), Makayla Randolph (UTL) and Cami Dotson (UTL).

Gore opens the season August 11 on the road at Keys before taking the dirt at home on August 12 against Gans.

“I’m eager to see what this ball club becomes,” said Carter.
