GORE LADY PIRATES FASTPITCH SOFTBALL

Gore enters the 2026 fastpitch softball season with high expectations after finishing 17-12 a year ago and returning an experienced roster that has its sights set on a deep postseason run. In her second season leading the Lady Pirates, head coach Kera Carter believes this group has the talent and experience to compete with anyone on its schedule. Gore expects to be strong in every phase of the game, combining reliable pitching, steady defense and a more dangerous lineup that should produce greater power at the plate. Most importantly, Carter says the Lady Pirates are motivated by the opportunity to earn a trip to the state tournament and have embraced the work required to make that goal a reality.
The Lady Pirates will build around sophomore pitcher and utility player Alevia Reasnor, who emerged as one of the area’s top young players last season. Reasnor struck out 140 batters while leading Gore in both hits and doubles, finishing with a .329 batting average. Her ability to control games in the circle while producing offensively makes her one of the team’s biggest difference-makers. Carter praised Reasnor’s work ethic and competitive drive, noting that she trains year-round and competes with her travel team while working toward her goal of playing college softball.
Sophomore catcher and utility player Kylie McEver gives Gore another cornerstone player. McEver caught every game for the Lady Pirates last season, recording a team-high 171 defensive putouts and a .972 fielding percentage. Her toughness behind the plate and strong swing provide stability on both sides of the ball, and Gore will once again rely on her leadership in handling the pitching staff.
Senior Maddison Douglass supplies the energy and leadership that help keep the Lady Pirates moving forward. Carter describes her as a constant source of encouragement whose positive attitude and communication lift those around her every day, whether in the dugout or on the field.
Gore faces another challenging schedule featuring tournament appearances and games against quality competition such as Roland, Howe, Cameron, Central and Red Oak before postseason play begins. If the Lady Pirates can pair their experience with the power Carter expects at the plate, they have the pieces to contend for a district title and make a serious push toward the state tournament.
